From a so-so looking bottle with a low shoulder fill, I bought this bottle because of its amazing dark color. In had opaque center and tan/yellow just at the rim. Obviously, the bottle had a ton of sediment. The medium+ intensity nose emanated brown sugar, sauteed cherries, soy, and minerals. Unfortunately, there was also a fairly heavy oxidative note.
In the mouth, this wine was surprisingly refined given the nose. There was light rounded tannin, brown fruit, and good length.
I think this bottle is generally inclined toward the flavors noted above and these have been accelerated due to the bottle's less than ideal condition. Even like this, the wine was special. Enjoy!

Bern's. Simply amazing. I never expected this to be so rich and harmonious. Almost like a 61, but due to it's age even more impressive. Rich and deep with just a touch of bitterness that was quickly overcome by the massive dose of fruit ew ere all delivered. Still has lots of time left. Go figure.

Tampa Part II: 47 Cheval, 47 Petrus, 20/26 Haut Brion, 28 P Clement, 26 GL, 59/82 Lafite, 53 Latour, more...: The reincarnation of 1961 HB (or is it the other way around). Dark as a 10 year old bottle (and no all you naysayers, its been in the cellar for decades, and it is the real deal). Dark sweet fruit, tasting exactly like perfect bottles of the 61. Simply incredible. In the glass this developed port like characteristics, with brown sugar and syrup flavors. Wow.

Monday Night at Alto.: I've had this twice now this year. Again, it was a smoky, almost mysterious wine, and oh so good. Loved it.
