it never ceases to outstand me the difference between a wine kept in a bottle format compared to a magnum . Yet another example today of a wine , when consumed by our normal "crowd"at a BBQ , was much better in the larger fomat than the bottle - fresh but rich .

NobleRottersSydney - Tamar Trip Sep04 (2): Pipers River (East Tamar wineries): (A$45, cork) Pale yellow. Taut seashell/seaweed aromas (claimed oysters not found by me). Interesting wine on the palate – it’s quite flat and broad – I suspect there’s a hint of oxidation in here. Again, the balance is towards the front of the palate, and the finish is a little shorter than I’d expect for a $45 wine. Drink up.
