I saved one bottle to test out much later. Well, as has happened with many of these older savennieres wines, it was completely oxidized. I waited a day just in case, but no luck...

Quite a sweet oxidised style. Not appealing straight after opening. Tried again after approx three hours - more palatable. Deep mid gold colour; cidery apples on the nose, following through to palate. Quite a big structured wine with a slightly oily texture. Some acidity starting to show. Will leave a day or two to see if it improves.

Golden yellow in color, with a quite oxidized nose. With lots of air, the fruit came out to play - pear, lime, wool and lanolin. This took 3 hours to even start to open up on the palate, then the classic savennieres flavours doing the oxidized/creamy flavour tightrope. Needs 10 years! (A-). Not as ready as the 'Cuvee Speciale' of the same year.
