(NV Fonseca Porto Bin 27 Finest Reserve) Saturated, very dark red violet color; berry, clove, black fruit, mulberry nose; tasty, berry, black fruit, mulberry, clove palate with balancing acidity; medium-plus finish 90+ points
(NV Fonseca Porto Bin 27 Reserve) Dark magenta in color. Aromatics tend toward raspberry, raisin, and spice. Soft, generous mouthfeel, with flavors of prune, fig, and raisin. A top-selling example of the genre, this Port needs no decanting and thus is an ideal by-the-glass pour for hotels and restaurants. It actually improves after it has been open for a couple of days, gaining weight and richness while the alcohol becomes less obvious. It matches well with Stilton and cheddar cheese, chocolate-based desserts, tiramisu, or poached pears, but is delicious by itself or even with a cigar. Fit to Be Fortified

Not a fan. Some green ox, cloyingly sweet. Very dark color.

Eye: Dark purple center to a dark red rim.
Nose: Red fruit. Black fruit. Light toast, and caramel notes. Strawberry jam. Very gentle touches of cacao and vanilla bean.
Palate: Full bodied. Hot at 20%. Pomegranate juice. Really nice and yeasty. Strawberry jam again. Gently nutty.
Finish: Short. Booze, red fruit, toast/nuts. Lightly bitter.
Overall: A very serviceable, but not tremendously impressive Reserve Port.
