  Nice and fresh cab. Easy drinking and not complex - similar to last note taken but more medium weight. Day 2 however the cab changed significantly. It is much heavier and chewy. Tannins and tocacco more evident but now fruit is much more muted with a dry finish. Feels somewhat closed. Suggest drinking on day one and not waiting for day 2. Much more lively and smoother. It is probably at it speak so the drinking window should be within this year. Lowered a point from last note since it is starting to fade if you don't drink it right away.

  The 2005 Cali cabs are just doing great with some age. This botle was better than the one I had 5 months ago. Fruit is more pronounced and tastes fresher. It is more balanced, both tannins and spice have softened and now blend well with each other. Has some vegetal aspects now as well. Had with a group of friends who really liked it. Great with or without food. Good mouth feel and full bodied but on the gentler side. Glad I have more of it.

  Having a stronger licorice and tobacco notes compared to last bottle. Very nice nose. Some dark fruits but not dominant in any way. Not as fruity as previous bottle. Finishes dry, tannins are evident but balanced with some acidity. Interesting to see what another 6 months might bring. It seems to be getting better and towards more of a classical cab style. Hopefully it has a few more good years behind it.

  Good drinking cab. Goes well with steak and tomato based dishes. Not much complexity - but medium to full weight, some fruit, smooth with some tannis at the end. Like the smoothness and balance overall. Maintained its taste profile on the 2nd day (vaccuvin). The 2002 was much more deep and heavy and smoother and excellent with full flavored red meats - a better year. 2005 is more of good daily drinker and goes with wider range of foods.
