  • A bit of a non-event, actually, and I might have expected a bit more given the standing of the house. Still, I understand this is Heymann's entry level wine and given its age probably acceptable. Deep gold yellow in colour, looking about right for the age, and the nose shows quite fresh sweet citrus fruits, almost in the tropic fruit spectrum. Palate is subdued relative to the nose with more simple fruits and perhaps a hint of honey and kero, but you need to look hard. Structurally ok but overall this wine lacks spark.

  • Found this in my cellar and thought it would be on the decline at least, as this is their entry level wine (a QbA). This was much better than it had the right to be! Still has great balance and harmony, with a mixture of (mainly) citrus and tropical fruits and some minerality. Still has a few years left in it. Very nice stuff, and a nice surprise (B+).
