After a one hour decant, this wine is open & lovely. Floral nose with red cherry pit and a hint of licorice. Seamless & nicely balanced on the palate. fruit forward, with sweet cherries, walnut, and a hint of vanilla bean, soft & round, subtle layers, and a long, sweet finish. Although the fruit is in the foreground, the style seems mostly traditional rioja, which I like. Didn't know what to expect from this but was pleasantly surprised. 100% tempranillo from the producer website. Very nice!

Still weird on day 3. Mellow midpalate with a sharp hot metallic edge. 14% alcohol and a world of acid. There being nowhere else to stand, I'll stand with those who say it needs time. Maybe it will resolve, maybe it will disintegrate.

Still purple in the glass. On opening, a yeasty, fresh-bread fragrance plus two unfused varietals, Tempranillo for sure and maybe Cabernet. Very strange. An hour later, the two grape are still going their separate ways, while the core is hollow and the finish abrupt. Maybe the remainder tomorrow will have improved, though I wouldn't expect it. Seems worth just exactly its price, next to nothing.
