Rich toasty oak nose; smoky, sweet roasted coffee tones, meat. There is some fruit behind it but the new oak is showcased. Very good but not for quercophobes. Hard to evaluate because, frankly, this would be a far superior wine with a little less new oak.

If you like Cab Franc, give this one a try. It's a very good value. Let it decant for 20-30 minutes to open up. It has great body, nose and taste with strong fruit forward (cherry, blackberry) and some other coffee/chocolate overtones but not so much to be sweet. Moderate tannins and a long smooth finish. We drank this without food during the evening and enjoyed it quite a lot.
