  • Again lovely, spicy and rich. This bottle had a stong undertone of sherry both on the nose and palate which leads me to believe that it is a drink now or forever hold your peace wine.

  • Medium-gold colour with green tinges. Very fine beads in the glass. Aromas of vanilla, pear, hazelnut, marzipan, and freshly grated ginger. Full bodied, rich, with gorgeous texture. On the palate, the wine shows gingersnaps, green apple, vanilla, hazelnut, and a hint of coffee. Moderate-long finish, ~40-45s, with more ginger and pear notes. An excellent, almost stunning bottle of Champagne that is really drinking well right now. Something to drink while waiting for the 1996 Grand Cru offerings from Feuillatte to cellar further. I really wish I had more!

  • Superb. If you are a fan of the less racy, more mature "brown" flavoured champagnes (which I am). Loads of toast, hazelnut, ginger, brown butter, a hint of burnt sugar (though in no way sweet), christmas spice. This is not a green apple, lemon & marzipan laserbeam of acid, instead it reminds you that good champagne shouldn't be bought at the store to be drunk that night but should sit in the dark for a number of years waiting for its moment to shine.

I'm very glad I have more.
