Very good. Perhaps shockingly so, some 29 years after harvest. This was made with grapes from the Montague vineyard -- not Lowrey, as the 1993 had been (thanks to Rick Van Sickle for digging up the vintage history). Cork in perfect condition; not sure I even needed to use the ah-so. The brightness of the fruit was gone -- more black cherry and fig now than any strawberry or sour cherry that might have once been. Meaty/leathery richness too. Not flabby or vegetal.
I won this at auction about a year ago. I don't know who put it up for bid, but I thank you for your diligence in preserving this bit of Canadian wine history.
