  • I'd say this is past prime at this point, although I'm enjoying it just fine tonight, certainly due to my preference for bottles on the dusty side. In spite of that, the color here is dense and dark with ruby edges, and is that really hinting towards purple? Also in spite of that, this bottle improved with a bit (30 min. to 1 hr.) of aeration in glass and open bottle (no decanting) and drank well over several hours. Aromas of dark fruits (slightly stewed), purple flowers, graphite, damp earth, and crushed rocks. Light to medium body, medium acid and finish, with flavors of black cherry, plum, black raspberry, lemon, black tea, a drying leathery component, and a mineral streak. A nice aged spot for me, though certainly too far for others.

  • Well, I'm at odds with some recent reviews, but I found this very solid. The color is very dense, with some ruby at the edges, but I wouldn't describe it as extracted stylistically. Aromas dark red and black fruits, violets, and mineral. Medium body, fairly high acid, good length, and flavors mirroring the nose. It gets a little thin on the mid-palate, but then spice and mineral kick in and carry through to a pretty generous finish. Killer with lamb ragu.

  • Very well balanced. Great legs, black cherry nose, medium tannins, very long finish. Great with red meat.

  • This has a sour blackberry taste to it...not expressive at all..I think this is either a bad bottle or past prime...my prior recollection of past bottles wasn't fond either....

  • Sour unripe blackberries, lavender, and acacia are present with subtle gamy notes in the background. This is quite acidic so drinking it without food is quite difficult.
