  Drank as part of our 7th anniversary celebrations. Decanted for about 15 minutes and placed back in the bottle to consume at Crazy About You one hour later.
  
  The wine started big and bold with firm tannins and great complexity, as the night progressed it was going down hill and becoming linnear. Not sure what happened here but it went from 97 to 90 in a matter of 2+ hours.

  Very smooth and lush, almost velvety but for the 16.5% alcohol. A "sophisticated" fruit bomb with a seemingly endless finish, but the alcohol still took it down a point for me and as much as I am not a huge fan of these types of wines, I certainly do enjoy them a few times a year.

  nose is big, bold and direct… oodles of black and blue berry fruit, xmas cake, spice and vanilla. palate is really sexy and smooth, velvety in texture, nice spicy notes. perfectly integrated tannin on the finish. hedonistic. penfold’s grange aside, this is as good a shiraz as i can remember.

  Decanted through a coffee filter for 4 hours with heavy, fine sediment removed.
  
  Still lots of life left in this. Was a hot fruit bomb when I drank my other bottle 8 years ago, and remains the same today. It’s got some interesting stuff going on, but hard to detect through all the fumes it throws off. Still, an excellent wine near its peak, reminiscent of an SQN Syrah in some ways.

  Completely dark and opaque. Pronounced black fruit aroma with toasty American oak. Very full-bodied flavors, with anise, builds on the palate. Mouth-coating, slightly too hot. Very long aftertaste of the same characteristics. A wonderful wine for those who like massive, concentrated, high-alcohol wines. Mature but will keep several more years.
