Making a beouf burginion and didn't have any "expendable" Pinot Noir. Found this bottle lurking in kitchen unit (not best place to store I know!) and used half for the dinner. Still a very good wine which subsequently was far better matched to the food then the 2004 Du Tertre which I opened earlier. I feel it is almost Pinot-like and it is really elegant and restrained.....far more Cote Rote than aussie shiraz

This was fabulous!!....really elegant and fine Syrah but with a new world softness to it. It wasn't a million miles from NZ Pinot as daft as that sounds but certainly had the spice and pepper one associates with good Syrah. What really impressed me was the food friendly elegance. The best New World Syrah I have tasted.......although I haven't tasted that many as normally don't like it!!

medium plus taste, white pepper, cherry, salami. Taste is qiute fullbodied, cherry, licorice, pepper, salami. Nice and spicy, but bit simple.
