-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over 2 hours --
Spicy and oaky bouquet with some cranberry and pomegranate fruit peaking through as well as a generic fresh flowers scent. Ruby core turning to burnt sienna at the edges - color is of medium-light depth, and the wine is also medium-light bodied. The palate is tart, and way too alcoholic (the 14.6% alc. is quite noticeable). Very disappointing, especially since the '05 Durell was one of our favorites while tasting at the winery. Honestly, their regular, sub-$20, 2006 Pinot is better than this horrible waste of $40. Not scored, but gut impression tells me low 80's.

Jammy, ripe, and rich with cranberry and orange peel flavors, and a medium bodied palate that while showing good concentration of flavor, seems a tad hot at 14.6%. This is a fleshy, full throttle lower-acid sort of Pinot that many are looking for these days.

An awesome Pinot, Big fruit, nice mouth feel and big finish. We had this for Thanksgiving 2010 and it was the best of several Pinots.

Drinkable pinot with less fruit and complexity than the Benoist Ranch
