  • Pen flaske med godt fyll. Vakker, lys honninggul farge, godt heng i glasset.

  • Nice acidity, a bit tight finish. Drink now.

  • This shows that Schäfer-Fröhlich's GGs require patience. After being reticent for years it now finally shows what it has. Golden colour and a nose showing dark sponti notes, citrus twist and yellow fruits in a heady mixture. In the mouth it has medium body, great texture and good acidity. Long aftertaste. Drunk over two nights, it was better on the second where it managed to match a fried mackerel with tomatoes.

  • No proper notes - red apples, lemon, peach, ripe stonefruit, well balanced and concentrated, complex and a very good, if not outstanding quality, 91-92

Rockss and Fruit

(Schafer-Frohlich Kupfergrube Grosses Gewachs) Really rocky minerality on the nose. LIke a quarry. Jumps out at you being really high-pitched with lovely minerality. This is the whole package. Elegance, finesse, concentration and candied minerality. Like rock candy. Long finish. Profound wine. Glad I have some. Schafer Frohlich GG's are my must have splurge wines this year because they are that good. Kupfergrube is becoming one of my favorite vineyards in the Nahe. Betweem this and Donnhoff's fruity Spatlese those were some of the top 07's I tasted in the Nahe.
