This was showing the good funk and the spunk of the Crozes area. Fruit still holding on, adding a lingering touch of violets and spice to the nice acid balance. Did soooo much better with food; not a sippin' wine, although after the meal it went down nicely.

Doing nicely, but as Texoenophile reports earlier this year, it way well be in it's prime. Also getting those secondary flavors, leather, garrigue, great funk. Acid still in balance with the fruit; very rewarding with veal with morrel sauce. One more left...hold for another 1-2 years. Price tag of $20 from my 2003 purchase, so the ave CT price of $76 seems odd...and this is definitely the Alberic Bouvet offering.

Very good Crozes-hermitage. Wine has evolved now into a supple, elegant wine. Syrah is showing secondary characteristics of leather, dried plums, tart black cherries, and muted pepper notes. Tasty indeed and ready to be drunk right now. No time to waste.

13% A bright, even ruby with just the merest hint of youth. Very rich, powerful nose with very solid, sweet cherry and blackberry fruit and new leather. Very big attack. Very ripe and very full with apparently a touch of brett that wasn’t evident on the nose. This is powerful stuff, but has a good structure that falls away towards the finish to reveal some lovely elegance and fragrant, floral fruit. Soft grained tannins appear on the finish. Very elegant after, with superb length. This could really do with a few more years yet. Very Good Indeed+.
