California bay leaf on the nose, very slow legs and beautiful color. After 30 mins of decanting, there's a fig smell from the decanter. Serving this with a Persian spiced bbq'd rack of lamb. At the end that old wine thing took over and I was burping cassis. Tasted blind, I'd have guessed early 80s Napa cab (25+ years later)

Two hours in the decanter. This was a pleasant surprise. Nice fruit and more complexity than I would expect from a traditional blending grape. Dark in color, black fruit and nice spiciness. Blind I may have guessed a Petite Syrah.
