Really strong showing. Expressive nose and palate of cedar, tobacco, bell pepper, dried red fruit, and herbal characters. Excellent balance on the palate still fresh and long. I only had the one bottle, but it certainly paid off. Throwing a ton of sediment, but plenty of life left.

Tasted as paired with the same 06 Franc de Pied: This was more red fruit driven with some dark minerality and a fresher presentation overall. More medium bodied through the palate. A very nice wine with a solid future.

Medium deep blood red - green tobacco, herbs, chokecherry nose, some spice - the fruit appears on the palate - intense, reduced essence of raspberry, red currant - definitely a briary aspect to it, but overall, I think it is still way too young to properly assess - the tannins are still very present and numerous - loads of fruit here though. I've got one bottle left, and I think I might keep it for a decade - it will likely be on the savoury side, but I'm imagining it will be quite complex.

Fresher, juicier, with higher acidity than FdP version. More dark fruit profile as well.
