This had a massive funky nose. Decanted and funk eventually dissipated after two days in open decanter. Lots of particles. Had some berries on palate but feels like this one is done.

Medium red. Sweet vanilla, alc, coccoa and dark fruit nose. Rich dry red fruit flavours and a nice balanced finish. Not at all ripe, I suspect the slight coolness of the vintage helped this wiine.

Bill's Monthly Lunch - June 2011 (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind – medium to deep red. Dark fruit profile on the nose with notes of plums, black cherries and hints of chocolate. It has a smooth palate offering opulent red and black fruits and hints of black pepper. Good acidity and polished tannins. This does a good job of walking the fine line of being fairly modern but not going too far. Drinking well now but for my palate more time will do this wine good. Very good. 89+
