My last bottle from a case bought on release. While I was not a fan of this wine on release, after about 10 years it started to settle in and provide pleasurable, balanced drinking. This has never been an elegant wine, but if you like copious fruit in your wine, this will fill the bill. Red & black fruit on the nose, expansive on the palate, and while I don't see a lot of upside here, no reason why the wine can't continue to maintain itself on this plateau for another 3-7 years.

Tasted along with the 2016. This one showed more reserved fruit compared to the 16. A mix of red and darker tones. Not really showing a lot of aged character. Unfortunately, this wasn’t paired well with the food, so maybe I would have liked it more in the right situation. I think I am just not a big fan of Barbera.

Opened for 45 minutes. Lovely. Rich and light at the same time; dry, with subtle fruit, and excellent with food.

Aging beautifully, but still quite vibrant, with fresh sour cherry fruit and terrific balance.
