Still a very saturated color. Muted nose, not much there. Wood and black fruits, spice. Palate is lean with bristling acidity. Red and black currant fruit, moderate tannin that seems a bit shrill given the acidity. Still holding up quite well, with good intensity on the palate, this just needs more plumpness and fruit. Drink now-2020+ I'd opt for waiting 3-4 years just to see what happens 88

Deep color, rich nose of toasty vanilla and black currant. Body is refined and silky smooth. Tons of ripe fruit - black currant predominates - and smooth vanilla and smoke. Medium tannins are in check. Regrettably last bottle.

Drink now. Cork disintegrated, wine was a little compromised. Cherry and Plum aromas. Cherry, anise, and jam flavors on front, light finish. Probably great a year or so back. This is a bit like cherry sweet tart now. Like I said, bottle may be corked.

The color is ruby-purple. Subdued nose, dominated by black fruits. Body is medium, good black currant fruit, vanilla, cedar, mild spice. Slight oak. I was a bit worried it was past its prime, as it was a recent purchase, but is drinking very well. I've had one other 2001 Mendoza Cabernet, it was similar high quality. Should drink through 2014.

Definitely not corked or over-age as prior review noted. Still developing: black currant, smoke, vanilla. Med-firm tannins. Awesome w/ filet mignon.
