  • This was actually a quite incredible pull by a member of the Friday group. If served blind, I more than likely would have guessed Napa Cabernet Sauvignon but would have definitely said 97 or thereabouts. Never would have guessed 87. However, if there is a nuclear vintage from the '80s, this would be it. Herbal and brambly blackberry, fig, hint of tar, tobacco, black tea, boysenberry. A little smoky on the middle and finish. Still quite an amazing structure on this wine. Tannins are still here, but are beautifully rounded and silky. I probably drink more of this than I should but I was just in awe with the balance and density and the lack of tertiary notes although there was a little bit of a nitrogenous soil density on the back starting to peek through after it had been opened for 45 minutes or so. Really neat wine! If you have these, they are not going to get any better, so drink up with friends and have a great time with these!

  • The body is full. The wine finishes long. It tastes like cranberry, plum, prune, mineral, pomegranate, black currant (cassis) and raisin. The wine looks ruby colored. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. The wine has smooth texture.

  • Over the peak. Sweet, funky and slightly plummy.

  • Had one of these at a restaurant tonight, wildly disappointing. Can’t prove it was storage problem or the wine itself.
