This is a great wine with beautiful maturity in its peak drinking spot. Black and red cherry, blueberry, black currant, chocolate and some leather. Smooth and well integrated tannins. The wine will be great for further 3-5 years.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #142; Vertical De Toren Fusion V plus some ringers (By RG): Red and dark berries, smoke, toast, leather, earl grey tea and some rustic impressions in the bouquet. On the palate green impressions, juicy and ripe fruits, beautiful acidity and soft tannin. Freshness and length. Develops in the glass for the better and is in a perfect drinking stage now.

Weekly tasting group RWP #241: DJ's birthday, so a complete surprise. (@ DJ): In the bouquet dark berries, chocolate, some soy and celery. On the palate the wine is still beautiful, but quite developed. Good acidity and still some bite, but also chocolate, coffee and quite mature. Good to drink this bottle now and not in one or two years. Will not improve. No score for today. 89 or 90 would be quite correct.

This one really surprised me and my guests. I Vinturi'ed this to a decanter then back to the bottle before popping it open 6 hours later. It was perfectly mature, had a great nose, and was remaniscent of a good CA cab blend at twice the price. I'll be looking for it and hope that other available vintages will have both the longevity and style of this nice wine.

Only 13.5% but tastes much bigger, almost port-like, graphite, certainly not claret but a good rich, ripe and balanced wine.
