  • Grippy, well structured character on the palate. It is powerful, fine tannins, but with a good texture and some polished, rather stony fruit. Lot of earthy and liqourice notes on the nose.

  • The nose starts out rather reticient with some dark cherry fruit, clove and a hint of leather.
On the palate the wine is on the contrary pretty much alive. Fruit flavors of dark cherry, cassis and raspberry are backed by decently balanced (but no way high) acidity. And there are nice complementing nuances of flowers, graphite and black chanterelles as well as mint chocolate and tar. Easy drinking but at the same time also somewhat complex. The wine started to close down just after half an hour, so I decided to leave the remaining wine for the next day.

2nd day: Way brighter fruit, more pronounced acidity, better transition from nose to palate and notes of sous bois, minerality and leather. Feels considerably lighter and now the tannins come across a tad green. Anyway, this is a rather nice 1er Cru for 20€.
