  Gala Dinner at La Festa del Barolo 2020 (The Pool Restaurant, NYC): Mature nose of mulch. A touch sour, but complex in the mouth. Fading, but still alive. Drink up.

  Dark tones, a bit sour, gooseberry, compared to the stronger vintages and better bottles in the same tasting this was a tad hollow and one dimensional but on its own this probably would be fairly ok.

  Double decanted for sediment in the AM. Drunk in the PM served with butter, reggiano, and crimini tajarin.
  
  At first a touch of soy on the nose that blew off in no time. On the nose, very perfumed with balsam, bouillon, tar, and dried rose petals. On the palate, there is breadth and depth, with tar, florals, balsamic notes, meaty and unami. It has richness and sap, yet is also muscular. (in the context of its age). A wonderful mix of savory and perfumed notes in a structured, yet perfumed expression of nebbiolo. Very long and drinking at peak. harmonious and wonderful. A solid bottle. 95
  
  It paired ridiculously well with the simple pasta preparation.
