A very dark garnet body. Lots of American oak in this wine, along with blackberry, sweet cassis, raspberry, earthiness and spice. Rich and fairly and viscous fruit in the mouth. Good acid and structure. A long, soft and berry-like finish.

It took a while for this to open up. It has been sitting upright on a retailers shelf for quite some time, and may be a little long in the tooth. The first impression is sharp spicy earth. Some serious swirling brings out the type of fruit we expect from ripe Australian wines. It fades fast, but gives us an indication of the potential this wine had. The color is super inky dark. It has a screw cap, but it also is 15.5% alcohol. You would expect the screw cap to handle a few years on the shelf. You always wonder if, and or why, to age a wine with this much alcohol. This is one of those wines with relatively low oak, and might not have been designed to be drunk this late. Plenty of sharp acidity. Still adolescent tannins. The blue fruit is soft and approachable as you would expect with grapes this ripe. Medium plus bodied. No doubt about the flavor influence of the 44% Grenache. Also no doubt about the influence of the Mouvedre on the finish. I really like the idea of not finding a lot of those hard to describe molasses type flavors we often ind in mid level Aussie reds. Would like to have tasted this in it's prime.

Had w/dinner over 2 nights. Initially PnP w/Vinturi, but was much better into 2nd day. Deep crimson color. Nice bouquet of ripe dark fruit, black bepper & woodsy spice, earthy aromas w/hint of herb, tobacco & chocolate. Precise cherry & dark berry flavors w/spice & herbs w/o being a fruit-bomb. This has evolved nicely w/subtle tannins, medium+ acidity, medium-bodied & nice lingering finish. Very good.

Dark deep brick red, dusty red rim. Quite closed nose of cloves and pepper spices, with some brambly prunish dark fruit. Stylish seemless oak woven into a savoury slippery palate with medium length.

Dark berry and spice nose. On the palate nice dark fruit and cedar. Dark fruits dominants the finish with some spice and maybe pepper. Nice and long.
