Still brilliant red in the glass, bright ruby. Intriguing aromas of melting beeswax, acrylics, brown sugar, and crushed rocks. The palate follows up with super easy red fruits, fat strawberry jams, baking pie, dough, and lovely warm toast. Curiously this wine lacked a great deal of earthiness and was far less rustic or soil driven then younger Chevillons. Super clean cut, pure fruit. The closer of a Chevillon Les Vaucrains vertical spanning '79 to '09.
