1982 Ridge Jimsomare Zinfandel Some described the nose as “pickly”, as in a pickle, and they were right. Very tannic fruit that dominated everything. Yet the fruit was drying up and was straight forward. Yet it also had high acidity that tried unsuccessfully to balance things out. A short finish full of green stems. This seems like it was picked under ripe. 11.6% ABV 83 points

Jimsomare Vertical at The White House (The White House, Anaheim, CA): Includes 5% Petite Sirah, probably from Geyserville or other.
Bright nose of baked fruits. Crispy with big acids and red fruit in the middle. This was one of the better older wines.
