Bottle 2 of 12. This is completely different than the last bottle. Color is honeyed and cork is in great shape on this bottle. Nose is complex like a honeyed apricot. The palate mirrors the nose in taste with a lush body that leaves a distinct sense of waxiness along with a spicy midpalate with a touch of citrus. Eventually, the finish evolves into ripe apricot and leaves a distinct almondy aftertaste. I've never had anything like this.

Cork was completely soaked with a bit of mold under capsule. The wine is a rich pale gold color. Initially, a bit of barnyard funk on opening blew off to show a nose of beeswax, a distant note of dark honey, and honeysuckle. The palate tastes of starfruit or quince with bright acid and a lime/ lemon pithy bitterness with an appley and a distinctly lingering almondy aftertaste. Savory, lean, and bright, nice for 27 years on.

interesting and expressive nose but the wine seems to get tired. The acidity is there but lacks a touch of richness

The Oddbins Old World Wine Fair; 5/16/1992-5/17/1992 (London): 80% semillon; 20% muscadelle. Very interesting, very complex nose. On the palate, several flavours combine well into a rich intensity. Great length. Rather good.
