  • The group favorite among ‘05/‘07/‘12. Not as powerful as the ‘05 or as coiled as the ‘12, this ‘07 is winsome for its ideal merging of intensity and complexity. At peak. Jeff picks out a hint of garlic which is bizarre but adds to the illusive variety of its many flavors.

  • Coche’s Corton Charlemagne always seems to please and thankfully is almost never oxidized. The 2007 is nearly pale yellow. This bottle is slightly subdued and does not display the Coche-specific aroma of buttered popcorn. Instead there’s some orange peel and gently simmered lemon pith. Medium full. Lengthy clean finish. Gorgeous balance. Subtle in Coche terms but deeply satisfying nevertheless. Much appreciated by the LXE group.

  • I love the tastes of stones and minerals and the slightly burnt back end that makes Coche unique. In the. Ladd of the finest Montrachets and towering above any other corton, this is big but elegant, long with the right balance of a stony river and a creamy citrus with a mix of yuzu and stone fruits to keep it from being austere even in an acidic year like 2007. It gave more and more over two hours. It’s hard to justify the price but it’s understandable considering it’s uniqueness. You always pay a premium in wine for the very top rung. It’s was a perfect bottle and great birthday treat. I was excited to see its color when poured because it would be a kick in the gut if my only bottle was Premoxed. I continue to have good luck with 2007s and enjoy the sharper, clean profile

  • Rocketing from the glass with a nose of stone fruit, lemon, cream and mineral, this 07 Coche CC shows all the amazing qualities that make Coche CC what it is. Extraordinary in its length and resonance with a pure, structured character, this is hard to avoid loving and admiring.

  • At first I thought this bottle was showing a bit of fatigue on both aroma and flavor. But it gained a second wind about 20 minutes later, firming up and doing the Dorian Gray and becoming younger and younger as time goes on. Still exhibiting that Coche oily texture and yellow fruit center with the smoke subdued. Compelling and more elusive than exuberant. Plenty of minerality to buffer the impressive extract and lingers nicely on the finish, never becoming tiring to drink. No rush to drink up but no reason to wait either.
