  • No decant time, the nose is muted and indistinct, slightly yeasty as well. The palate has dark fruit and leather with little tannins or acid. This bottle is in the downside of its life, drink now if you have one.

  • Drank pretty fresh outta the bottle. Fruit forward on nose with hints of a mountain stream. There is also a bit of an alcohol smell present as it was so fresh out of the bottle. Fairly mellow to the taste. A hint of leather with minor berry taste in the background. Not really acidic, nor tannic. This would benefit from a couple hour decant.

  • Nice daily drinker. Well balanced and great QPR. Full bodied, with dark fruits, licorice and cedar. Mild tannins and smooth finish. Had a bottle last year that was flat and was concerned when I opened this one. Glad it was the exception. Age has helped.

  • Fruit and dust in the nose. Plum on mid palate. Reasonable tannin structure. A nice surprise for $9 wine.

  • No point in rehashing positive notes of other posters - excellent value at $9 delivered.

I think it is important to give this plenty of time to breathe. I opened my current bottle about 20 hours ago; drank some over about three hours and am returning to it now. Yesterday the initial glass was closed and hot, but it was opening up at the end. Now it is really opened up - much more forward initially, with a touch of heat, then the tannins kick in along with some good acidity. The fruit profile sustains all the way through and lingers. The tannins are also more integrated today than they were last night. Full bodied and a good food wine but not with delicate entrees- not at all surprised the other note that it didn't pair with fish. Some wine diamonds in the bottle.

At the price this is a great "every day" red wine. Rated "Very Good to Excellent (85-89)"

I'm a neophyte when it comes to aging; that being said it seems to me that this could hold for awhile. Note, though, that the closure is a synthetic "cork".
