ChTR kokous 24.05.2014 (Uusi-S): Tasted double blind. I nailed this one immediately as the bottle I brought, it's so unique and so good! We have the characteristic physallis of northern Minervois, and lots of dark fruit, plums, blackberries, quite complex. The palate is still full of tannins, very fruity and still feels young at 10 years of age. I will leave my remaining bottle for some more years.

Popped and poured. This was ready to go from the pour. Lots of intriguing aromas of physallis, refined red fruits, very elegant, but very unique. The palate follows, with physallis, good tannins, red fruits. This is simply something so different that it wakes you up, "What is going on here??". This is a really well-made wine with a mark of it's own, unique. Very good, but slightly unsettling in it's weirdness. I must go back to the winery to see if this property of the wine carries through to other vintages!

Laser-like blackcurrant fruit pastille flavour, a lifted menthol note, with some gaminess round the edges, thick and a bit simple - not really my sort of thing

Languedoc tasting (at home): Woah, this is very interesting, really strong physallis and honeymelon on the nose! Cat's piss too. Same on the palate. Is this a red wine? Is this a Syrah? Very different, very good.

(Hegarty-Chamans Cuvée 1, Minervois) 60% Carignan, 40% Syrah. Almost inky, with aromas of violets and blackcurrant giving way to complex minerals, baking spice, and licorice on a midpalate of dark fruit and well-integrated new oak. Langeudoc: The Pursuit of Quality

Less fruit, more brett, I think this one is over the hill sadly.
