  • W tomato galette. Very good combo. Brought this up from basement with a Williams Selyem Pn. Very different. This was very good - plenty of fruit and structure. Very impressive now. Nice finish. This had more body less subtleness than the 06 Vista Verde.

  • Four years since I drank one of these and this wine continues to evolve really well--thank you Andrew for sharing this with the table. Graphite aromatic, red apple, zesty dark strawberry with plenty of tension, fruit.....remains fresh and delicious at 10 years of age. No rush to drink these as this wine looks to have a runway ahead of it but with all the parts speaking so well now and with the energy it retains, now is a good time to enjoy one.

  • Was closed at first even after 9 years. It took a long time to open. Left over from Happy hour at work it was better by 9:00 PM with lots of air. Dark Cherry Color. Its very dark and concentrated relative to most Santa Cruz Mountains pinot. Nose opened to cedar, tart dark cherry, and something minty. Big tart dark cherry on the palette with strong tannins to balance the acid. Med Finish.

This is a very different style of Pinot to me. Very tart and acidic. I like it

  • sunday sausage dinner (sauerkraut with apples / mashed potatoes). Shoudl have decanted. This was a lot better after open for 2 hours. Nose was closed but opened. Color was deepish red. On palate wonderful elegant fruit, didnt get the tartness. It was red fruit, strawberry/cherry combo. Drink now.

(Copain Pinot Noir Monument Tree) Barrel sample - (50% whole cluster; Wells said the stems were very ripe in 2007, the ripest he'd seen since '99; Dijon clones 115 and 777) – most Burgundy-like on nose, with a touch of greenness; good grip and depth 91-94 pts.
