The nose is smokey peat, leather and sour red fruit that leads to similar palate. As the wine opens up the smoke characteristic really comes out and the palate rounds out to a big black cherry flavor.

This is the third wine I've tried from this winery and I'm getting the idea that "smooth" is not a word that applies to their wines. This struck me as a typical low- to middle-range Washington blend with mainly dark fruit flavors, light on tannins, with low to moderate acidity. I got it at Costco for $12.99 and at that price it's a decent QPR but I wouldn't pay much more. I like it less than many of its near competitors including Firehouse Red, Recess Red, Zerba Wild Z, etc.

This one was not as interesting as my first bottle
On day one the nose is toasty currants and smoke with a palate of currant and a bit of vanilla. The finish is sweet cherry and cola.
On day two the nose is dominated by black cherry. The palate is also black cherry with a bit of spice.

True to the label, concentrated blackberry hints of licorice and cedar. Good structure and drinking well now.
