A point! Showing a perfectly clear light red color with orange transparent meniscus, restrained but persistent notes of dried rose petals and faint red licorice complicate the red berry notes. Fading sweetness (good thing) on the palate with wonderful balance. A lovely if lightweight bottle. A pleasure. Time to enjoy and drink up.

First impressions of rich berry fruit on the nose and mouth. Layers of smoky spiciness with soft tannins on the mid palate with a nice long silky textured finish. I find Ancien's pinots need time for the sweetness of the fruit to subside and allow for the structure of the wine to show through. The 2007 is drinking very nicely right now and I can see it going at least another two years.

Shut down. Next day, wonderful, balanced medium weight red/black plum and cherry flavors. Needs another year or two. Should also be worth a point or two more with age.

Cherry, pomegranate, spice and caramel nose. Medium bodied palate with rich red berry fruit and hints of cocoa and vanilla. Nice acidity. Impressed by this.
