  • This is outstanding. The concentration and depth across the palate, from the initial attack to the finish is astounding. Very much a Grand Cru, and it's still just a baby. Although drinking very well now, it needed a solid 2 hours of air to start showing it's stuff. Cherries, pomegranate, some earth, and a 45+ second finish. Not cheap @ $105 but worth every cent for the experience. I know nothing about the '01 vintage, but it appears when put in the right hands (Marchand) good things tend to happen. I would give this another 5+ years to develop some of the mature secondary aromas/flavors. Still somewhat primary and I could see an additional point of upside if this matures into what I think it will.
