  • 2011 - Cata #1: Opened for 5+ hours. Dark color, garnet rim, dark and long legs on glass. After all that time and it's almost muted on nose... it barely shows black pepper, minerality but no hint of fruit... it only opens a bit after one hour in glass. The palate, however, is magnificient, medium to full body, fruity, some astringency and wood. It almost seems you can bite the fruit. The finish is long, almost endless. Had the nose stood to the palate this would have been a 93+ wine. I have been told this wine changes quite a lot from bottle to bottle. It looks like this one should had been opened AND decanted for at least four hours.
