  • This was consistent with my 3/30/12 note…a deep, ripe and concentrated bouquet of smoke, blackberry, black currant, black cherry, licorice, sage and spice aromas. The palate was big, ripe, moderately tannic and dry with flavors of blackberry, tart black cherry, licorice, sage and spice.

  • I had this after work on 3/30/12. Unlike my previous tasting, this had a huge amount of fruit…an appealing liqueur like bouquet of smoke, blackberry, black currant, black cherry, sage, licorice and spice aromas. The palate was big, ripe, moderately tannic and dry with flavors that followed the nose.

  • Probably time to drink. Nose of smoke, aromatics and raspberry. Cherry, pepper, creamy acidity with a bit of heat on exit. Interesting in it's varietal composition, or lack thereof.

  • Tree leaves (eucalyptus) on the nose, plenty of juicy berry with a tad of bitterness and sourness. Still, a pretty good wine for a PV varietal that is typically blended. Good bottle.

  • I drank this after work on 8/2/10. It may have had too much air. It was poured into the decanter and then right back into the bottle, where it sat for 5 hours.

The bouquet was unusual in that it was very subdued and had more spice and earth than fruit. It had sage, pepper, dusty attic, licorice, black cherry and black currant aromas. The palate was also very subdued…smooth and balanced with mild flavors of sage, spice, licorice, black currant, black cherry and blackberry.
