I found this forgotten in the corner of my cellar. This was an odd one to place. Dark color, suggesting it may have turned. Nose has the beeswax smell of sémillon with dried apricots of ice wine. Those qualities are even more intense in the taste. Good balance of acidity and sweetness. Definite white fruits on a long finish. Fairly complex given its age. A bit more stuffing in the middle and richer than most Sauternes I’ve had. It’s a bit of an oddball, like a Sauternes was produced in Austria. I really like it and wish I gave it a few more years.

The nose on this particular bottle came across a little medicinal. The sweetness was still in the nose and the alcohol was showing as well. Tropical fruit flavors immediately attacked but were backed by an unpleasant astringency. Far from bad, but far from great.

Nose of toasted pineapple, intense aroma. Floral notes of honeysuckle and honey on the palate. Some hazelnut. Really nice. Not overly sweet and possessing good acid balance. Lingering finish. - Tasted at Winery

Good, better than the simpler one-dimensional sweet desert wines out there, but not very complex either. The aromas have stone fruit and some honey and floral elements as expected. The finish is quite short.

A lot going on here. Solid all round. Standard dried tropical fruits on the nose and palate. Long, chalky finish. It's very solid QPR at under $20.
