Bigger style Pinot. Flavors of cherry, rhubarb, raspberry, spice, with vanilla and sugar interwoven in between. Rich (almost pie-like), smooth texture. Alcohol shows through a little on the finish.

What a pretty nose, classic Anderson Valley aromas of cool raspberry and blackberry, along with hints of chocolate, caramel and tobacco leaf. Tangy acid, silky tannins and bright red fruit make this wine an absolute pleasure to drink. The raspberry and red cherry flavors are bright and bursting with freshness. Notes of truffle oil and soil carry the finish, and it's all rounded out by very subtle oak. While the acid keeps it balanced, the alcohol in this wine is evident, giving the wine an almost oily mouthfeel . But the flavors are so delicious, that it's easy to overlook. This seems to be in a prime drinking window right now, and I wonder about the alcohol becoming more evident as the fruit and tannins wane.
