Good fruit still comes through clearly, mostly apple and pear. Lots of emerging yeast and toast character is equally prominent, particularly on the nose, which gives this Champagne seem less fresh, more aged.

Champagne Tasting at The Beverly Hills Wine Merchant (Beverly Hills, Ca.): Nose of Gala Apple, shale, slate, touch of honey, and spring flowers, on the palate, big body, almost elegant, very tasty, mouth filling, crisp, refreshing, tiny bubbles make for a lovely mousse, the perfect end for a glorious and first tasting of 10 or more Champagnes, long, lovely finish.

Klingenstein Dinner w/Stephan Blicker (Custom House): Full yellow color with a core of gold. Clean medium nose of creamy red apple. Nice round apple on the palate with good acidity. Nice mature champagne.
