  • This was opened to celebrate my 60th birthday (slightly late due to life happenings). This particular example was bottled in 2004, according to the label. Seven of us tasted, and it was enjoyed by all. Medium-intense, amber color that fades to clear on the edge. Hints of toffee on the nose, flavors of caramel, cinnamon, hazelnut. Low-tannins, creamy and smooth.

I'm glad we had the foresight to pick up 2 bottles 15-16 years or so ago, and I only wish we had gotten more. The next bottle will be opened on my 65th, if not sooner. It should be fine for another 10 years, if not longer.

  • Dyp brunoransje. Tørre aromaer som alkohol, nøtter, lys sjokolade og trevirke i nesen. Lett men elegant smak. Godt sammensatt. Nytes til desserter med nøtter. For dyr.

  • This is a fascinating and delicious colheita. buttery/toffeed nuts and dried fruit and fabulous balance are the highlights. Great length and unctuous mouthfeel are a real pleasure, what a treat.

  • We drank this as a celebratory drink after landing a 350# Blue Marlin on our annual fishing trip. It capped off an evening of grilled steak and the freshest, best tuna shashimi we all had in our lives, that was served with an excellent 2000 Bordeaux. It was the perfect desert to it all. The nose is fantastic, a smokey, sweetness starts it off then it rounds to the lovliest finish. I will be searching for another bottle of this post haste.

  • Amber in color. Smooth, balanced flavors of walnuts, walnut oil and dried fruits. No alcohol burn except for a tiny bit of warmth on the finish that I saw as a positive. Lovely to sip but not as complex as past bottles. 50+11+11+8+7 = 87.
