Enjoyed this with a hunk of New York roast, followed by a couple of hours reading. Quite enjoyable - an easy drinker that doesn't make your eyes widen with each sip, but was smooth and ready to go. I agree with the comment from mmurray in that it was rather one-dimensional, but it was a nice accompaniment to a relaxed evening. I have a couple more bottles of this that I plan on putting in the "drink up" rotation.

The mouth-feel of this one is what I noticed first - velvety, smooth, warm - like a comfy duvet! Very smooth and well-rounded Bordeaux blend if a little one-dimensional. Fair amount of fruit, but not sweet, and a hint of cedar and spice to balance the fruit. This has just a hint of the old world... Medium-length finish with fine tannins that provide some structure and lift this above the usual fruit-bomb wines that seem to be everywhere. Purchased at Purple Cafe in Woodinville, WA. Cork closure.

Best Kept Secrets/Hidden Gems (Farpointe Cellar): This wine was good, but one dimensional. The nose had raspberry, vanilla, and some chocolate. The palate was raspberry and oak, as well as a bit of spice. The finish was good.

Light color and texture, mild/smooth tannins; smooth and simple in all respects. Very enjoyable!

Still like it though it's time to start drinking up. Raspberry, spice or maybe a little tobacco.
