This was another really good bottle-great fruit, complexity, and balance, this wine reminded me immediately of the time I have spent on the Central Coast--carefree, fun, yet sophisticated and saucy. Excellent.

Popped and poured. Clearly bret on the nose here, very different than the previous two. Still that stewed cherry and acidity, but the bret was a bit tough. After a bit of time, the bret started to blow off a bit. When it did, it became much more enjoyable, even excellent. So what do you do? Rate the wine out of the bottle, the one at the end of the bottle, or the midpoint between the two?

Much different experience than the last bottle. this was bright and vibrant, juicy and complex. I was way into this wine after a rough day at work. Intense berries and earth, juicy and sexy. This was one of the best of the best pinots I have had in a while. Wow.

The owner/winemaker at Au Bon Climat, Jim Clenenden is a legend. I have only had a few of his wines, but have never been disappointed. This was no exception. Clearly, the fruit has faded on this a bit, but the tart cherries and subtle vanilla remain. A tad on the austere side, but that is how I prefer my pinot. This was a great choice for the salmon and only would have been better if my wife had been there to share it. Excellent. 87-89 points. http://thedrunkencyclist.wordpress.com
