Aromatics of over ripe fruit, gamy dominated nose- hints of violet and vanilla. Deep notes of mature dark grapes, blackberry, blueberry- in addition to very nice spice. Cooking chocolate like tannis, chalky but soft. Short to medium finish. Drinking where it should be

NYD 2009 party bottle. Actually opened night before to do early taste and give it some time- I wanted to taste it while the vintage is still available for purchase, as 2007 just released. Mixture of red fruits on the nose and the palate. Seems a bit singular in its profile at the moment, without much depth. Gregg did use neutral oak and this makes it much more food friendly than I would have expected. My guess is bottle #2 will flesh out in a couple of years.

nice cherry with good acidity; a bit too sweet for my taste, and at this time not much stuff to mute this

Very big, chewey and juicy with some lingering tannins and a tiny bit hot. Very, very good with many years to come.
