  • Inga noter men riktigt bra. Fortfarande ung. Hög koncentration. Bra balans med lätt minus åt syrahållet som knappt finns.

Jag hade svårt att matcha den mot varken asiatiskt eller ost, men det är ett bra vin. Punkt.

  • Cellier Wine Fair (Hilton Athenaum Hotel): The nose is clean, showing high intensity of very ripe citrus and stone fruits, apricot, peach, pineapple, almost jasmine florality and lime-y acidity. In the palate, the wine feels smooth with fine complexity, ripe citrus, peach and apricot again, light jammy nuances with refreshing acidity, not cloying at all, medium lime-y finish, very easy to drink.
Outstanding quality, drinking now but will hold

  • Viscous, deep yellow-green appearance. Somewhat restrained nose for a sweet Gewurztraminer with perfumed aromas of roses, some overripe pear and a hint of lychee. Sweet, quite full-bodied and positively crisp on the palate with moderately high acidity. There are rich and quite intense flavors of pear jam, rosewater, some exotic spices and a hint of lemon marmalade. The balance is great here, but the flavor department feels a bit one-dimensional compared to many other VT Gewurztraminers. The finish is sweet, very long and constantly evolving with layered and very persistent flavors of white syrup, ripe pear, honey, some exotic spice, a little bit of perfumed rosewater, a hint of white raisins and mature nuances of leather and nuttiness.

This wine was a bit divisive for me: on one hand, it felt a bit straightforward and one-dimensional for a Gewurztraminer VT, especially one already 7 years old. On the other hand, it showed great structure and balance with the acidity and the aftertaste did show a hint of mature complexity, so perhaps this wine isn't a lost cause. Despite its age, it's not particularly memorable dessert wine not, but it might turn out quite nice if given more age. Based on how it is drinking now, I would keep this until 2020-ish before opening. Good but not great.
