  • Classically constructed showing even some minerality on the nose and a surprising structure. The tannins are plentiful but never harsh. Enough acidity to balance out the still somewhat primary fruit. On night two we see the oak peaking through but its not over done. This should age fairly nicely letting that oak integrate and the fruit relax both of which should let some complexity make this a bit more interesting. I'm still not convinced Petit Sirah can show much complexity on it's own especially on when young. This is a nice surprise though. Though the fruit is from elsewhere the winery is in the heart of Napa where this style is so rarely seen these day. Very nice.

  • Dark burgundy color with black cherry aroma. Tart and dry with a sour cherry and bluberry taste. A bit of an edge but tasty.

  • Dark dark purple in color. Tight nose, not revealing much. Holy tannic. hints of chocolate, with an overwhelming vegetal/green component. While this did go much better with a fresh cheeseburger, it's not my cup of tea... err wine. Day 2 - nose opens up to more green... asparagus? and some alcohol. On the palate more complexity with some cocoa/leather, but I can't get past the greenness... Will not purchase again, even though I like this charming/hidden napa producer.
