Really nice right on the pop n pour but notched up with an hour of air. Aromatic with medium complexity. Super silky and a great finish. Nose and finish are what really stand out. Still drinking strong at 15 plus years.

The Gang Drinks Blind (Mesa Verde Country Club in the OC): Served blind with some other bottles of Burt Williams inspired cuvees. This was the best wine in the flight for me. Good acidity here with the ripeness of the vintage showing. Red fruit with good weight, kind of meaty. Also had a cherry tomato note, although it was not prominent, so it added just enough tang. Juicy with root beer, bing cherry. Still fresh and cruising right along for just under 15 years old.

Popped and poured. Should have probably decanted for 30 minutes prior. It needed some time to breath but I was in a rush to get into it. Decided to use my Vinturi device and, quite frankly, I'm not sure what effect this thing has on anything.
After some time this wine started to open up nicely. The tartness went away and it showed some nice red fruits. This is a subtle wine - the nose is a bit muted and the palate is light to medium bodied. I wouldn't call this a profound wine. Instead it is a great mid-week wine.

Lots of tartness. Rhubarb and root beer. Got a little sweeter toward the end. Amazing texture.
