  • Rich purple colour, showing a touch of claret at the rim.
The nose is striking with some bold fruits and a touch of volatility initially. After settling more almond/cheese notes join the fruits (which settle down a touch).
Despite the colour and the initial nose, this isn't a big wine and there's quite juicy acidity that just flirts with a touch of sourness on the finish. There are fine tannins and together with the acidity, give this wine a quite drying finish.

To me this feels like a great bistro wine, likely to work well with a variety of food. Not really one that I'd sit down and drink on it's own though.
