Blend of Syrah, Barbara, Zin, Petite Sirah, Malbec, and Alicante Bouchet grapes, opened and drank, basic ruby color, not inky or thin, fruity nose, first glass was fruit-forward with some late tannins, wine smoothed out after awhile, not really sure what it was trying to do, basic party wine, will not repurchase even at $10.

I think this 2007 is a step above the 2006, which to me seemed like a kitchen sink blend trying to hide some VA. This is still pretty simple, designed for the easy drinking crowd, but on it's way to interesting. Good clean winemaking (and filtering) and blending, has brought us a decent, if slightly confused, mouth full of dark fruit, spices and tannins. Maybe a little more acid would help. I'll bet that when they get to the 2008 vintage, they will move their winemaking another step up.

I bought this purely for the bottle and the name. It is truely a party wine with a nice strong nose and very smooth. It did not exude tons of flavor, in fact I found myself taking bigger drinks in attempt to determine the flavor. If your giong to a party and need a cheap fun bottle, this is a good one.

Spice and cedar with enough fruit to carry it through.
